Free Android Wallpaper Gallery

Free Android wallpapers for your smartphone

Getting wallpapers on your phone

1. Browse through the Wallpaper Gallery's many categories to find the image you want. Or, use the search function. Within a category, previews of the wallpaper images will be listed. When you see one you like, click on it to go to that wallpaper's download page.
2. Make sure you are logged in, or if you are not yet a registered member of AndroidCentral.com, join now (it's easy and takes less than a minute). In addition to unlimited wallpaper downloads, you'll also be able to register for contests, get extra perks in the forums and otherwise strut your stuff as a member of the greatest Android community anywhere.
3. Once you are logged in, you have a few options for getting a wallpaper onto your phone:
  • Download Wallpaper! - This link allows you to download the wallpaper to your PC's desktop. From there, you can copy the wallpaper onto your phone or tablet, or then e-mail it to yourself.
  • Email This Wallpaper! - Allows for easy over-the-air installation. Simply specify the e-mail address you have on your phone, and click the "Email wallpaper!" link. You will receive an e-mail on your phone or tablet containing both a URL to the wallpaper and the wallpaper file itself, or you can specify to just receive the URL. By either clicking on the URL or opening the attached file, the wallpaper will open in your download to your Android devce. From there, open the image and set it as your wallpaper.
  • Use the QR code! - Each wallpaper has a unique QR code that you can scan. It'll immediately download the wallaper and is even easier than e-mailing it to yourself.
4. With the wallpaper now saved to your Android phone or tablet, you can set it to be your wallpaper at anytime by going into your Gallery app, hitting the menu button, then choosing "Set as" and "wallpaper."

How to submit wallpapers:

If you have a wallpaper that you've already created and want to share it with the rest of the world, you can add it to the Android Central Wallpaper Gallery by running it through our Wallpaper Maker Tool. This will upload it to the Android Central serversand allow you to give the wallpaper a title and select the category for it to appear in.
Take care in how you title and tag your wallpaper. The better you do it, the more people will find the wallpaper you've shared.
Also, the higher resolution the wallpaper, the better. Nobody likes a screen full of pixellated pictures.
Note that your wallpapers probably won't appear in the gallery immediately. But we'll get them approved just as soon as we can.

Supported devices:

Android Central's user-submitted Wallpaper Gallery should work with most high-resolution images and displays. But because of the various resolutions, you might have to crop a wallpaper a tad.
If you're really stuck, ask for help in the forums, or use our contact forum.

DCMA:

All of the wallpapers featured in this gallery have been submitted by members of AndroidCentral.com. If you are the rightful copyright holder to a wallpaper featured in this gallery and you do not wish for it to appear here, we will gladly remove the offending content once notified under the terms outlined under the Digital Copyright Millenium Act.

***How to Root & unROOT Revolutionary*** EASY! UnROOT and ROOT! Updated 11/15/11

Disclaimer: Not responsible for anything that may happen to your device!

We must first gather the tools needed for the process, written and visual step by step below, I am simply not saying “This works better than other methods” but am saying it worked for me and able to replace my usb port on my device at the “S” store. Make sure the sd card is not inside when you take it in?

Now assuming that your rooted with the latest from “UnRevoked & AlphaRev” with a custom ROM installed on your device, in this case I was currently on “NewToRoot” 2.3.5/3.5 with a custom Kernel. The two zip files below Download and place them on the Root of the SD card, steps below is simply renaming the first one that will be used for removing the “Root.” You can rename them on the computer and place it on the SD or on the device itself, which ever you prefer but cannot have the same file name. Since I am removing UnRevoke & AlphaRev Root, I used the Number one first..

Files and there functions.

1. HEX file: This will remove you Root access and Returns Security on (S-ON).
2. PC36IMG.4.53.651.1 file: This file flashes Boot Loader version from 6.16.1002(mod) back to stock 2.16.0001 and restores stock ROM.

Latest RUU 4.54.651.1 thanking "FOOTBALL"
I will check this for returning to stock if your Evo device is S-ON, BootLoader 6.17 with O/S 4.54 already and cannot return to stock bootloader 2.15 or 2.16.

*How to Unroot your Evo 4G*[/SIZE][/U]

1. Renamed the “HEX” file to “PC36IMG” and placed inside the ROOT of the SD Card, disable FastBoot my case newer rom’s are located inside settings>power>fastboot and stock would be in settings>application>fastboot and uncheck it to disable. Complete Shutdown.
2. Boot to HBoot Screen by Holding “Volume down & Power Button” same time until you get to the white screen with your device info and “Revolutionary” ontop.

3. After system scanning, It will ask “Parsing?” select “Yes” by using volume up key.
4. Done!

What just happened? “Unrevoked & AlphaRev” root is now removed, Boot Loader remains the same with your Security now enabled “S-ON.”

Now there are a lot of way’s to proceed in loading the most updated version of the Stock Rom or RUU from “S”, but for now I will use what was documented(Documentation Beats Conversation). From removing the Root and putting Security On(S-ON).

Boot Loader Flashed and Return to Stock!

1. Reboot system and not forgetting that I am still on a Custom Rom, renamed PC36IMG back to Hex this would allow system not to keep reading it over and over.

2. With the number 2 file PC36IMG.4.53.651.1 file I renamed PC36IMG.zip now, if your inside “Es explorer”(FileExploreApp) you do not need to add .zip to the end of the file since it’s already read as a zip file, simple “PC36IMG.” MAKE sure of it or you will come back and say “It says no image?” or looking like this inside recovery menu pc36img.zip.zip.

Now upon updating the system partitions, PC36IMG zipped with the latest “S” stock ROM or RUU is going to flash the Boot Loader as you will see in the video guides below, that would be the first step it’s going to take as you will see your device screen turn’s off for like a millisecond and comes back on(Flicker), when it returns as you will look to the top information your Boot Loader is now removed from 6.17.1002(mod) to stock 2.16.0001.
Only takes not even a 1 1/2mins and it will return to all the partitions and starts to update them one by one splash, boot, wimax etc;

ScreenShot From Guide Part 3 of 3 **12:46 to 14:02**

How can I confirm that this is the correct information? Well for one fact, it is the STOCK RUU from the Carrier themselves leaked onto the community, and how can we forget Teams “Unrevoke and AlphaRev” released Root method for Android Version 2.3.3.
I created a Tutorial on it and simply read through the process as I was recording, my device info before rooting is recorded and visiualy documented on video, just looked back at it and it read the same thing on this thread.

I even created 3 part Video GUIDE through this whole process, and show exactly what the step's above talks about.

Part 1 of 3

TeamWIN presents the the second hi-def video of HDMI Mirroring on CM7. This is a full team effort, and we look forward to bringing it into CM7. This is being shown on a 145" projection. Please ignore the pizza boxes. :) EVO is delivering 720p video 50fps.

Special kudos go to the game creators for an amazing game, which I haven't played much of yet (as you can tell by my incompetence at it)

HDMwIn Gingerbread Alpha Build

You read the title correctly.

HDMwIn now supports HDMI out on gingersense. Congrats to TeamWin for this fine release. I have been waiting for HDMI out support for a while.

We'll be porting the whole re-architecture over to CM7. Not gonna leave AOSP out to dry!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...postcount=1850

This new kernel is a complete rewrite of the app. The functionality is now fully automatic and no longer requires a separate app. The team has said they do plan on releasing an App to allow those who wish to tinker with settings to do so, but otherwise, a seperate app is unneeded. Gone are the daemon downloader loops.

More indepth information is available here:
http://www.androidcentral.com/androi...ead-first-look
How long did it take you to perfect HDMwIn for Gingerbread?

I've spent over 100 hours getting all the little details right and all the algorithms working smoothly. I anticipate another 10-20 hours until all the wrinkles are fixed.

So HDMI just outputs on its own? The user doesn't need to do anything?

Exactly. The user plugs in the HDMI cable, and it just works. The user is welcome to make adjustments via the UI, but there's generally no need. But there will always be someone who is fussy and wants it to lock rotation, change scaling or modify the overscan defaults.

Did there not used to be auto-rotation? And does auto-rotation work for everything? I noticed it worked in both Nova and the YouTube app.

There was a rudimentary version of auto-rotation in old builds, but that required the UI to read the sensors. This consumed massive amounts of battery, and performed poorly. This new method requires no extra power, and offers a smoother experience to the user. Any application which natively handles rotation (either fixed, like Nova, or dynamic, like Messages) will work out-of-the-box. As for YouTube, YouTube isn't mirroring. It uses native HDMI support for Gallery videos and YouTube videos. That was one of the great new features. You no longer need to disable mirroring to use YouTube. It switches automatically.

You mentioned there's now YouTube app support. Is there also support for videos played in the browser app?

Only the YouTube app and Gallery app support HDMI out-of-the-box from HTC. So when those apps run, you'll have different output on your TV from your device. If you're playing video (or anything else) on the device in a player which doesn't natively handle the EVO's HDMI port, you'll get full mirroring. If the app is HDMI-aware, you'll get the app's intended behavior.

Are there any performance enhancements in the new HDMwIn? How are the scrolling speeds compared to the previous version?

We're using the same "Silky Johnson" technology which drove our previous accelerated kernels, so we're seeing the same smooth responsiveness and performance. Because we now do aspect scaling a little more accurately, it's possible the GPU isn't quite as taxed as before, but we haven't felt a noticeable difference. The device no longer has a polling loop running in the background, so that helps battery life and performance as well.

You mentioned there's a custom kernel involved. What kind of features does this kernal support? Are other kernals supported?

I always build our new features directly on top of the HTC kernels. Once we release the kernel and source code, we work with other kernel developers to get our code integrated into their kernels. This kernel has all the latest EDID fixes (for people who would plug in a TV and have the phone immediately crash) as well as the HDMI mirroring.
Video Preview available here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gu7OV...layer_embedded

Warning!!
The kernel has been released on Kernel Manager. This is a free app available on Android Market. Before installing this kernel, please nandroid your phone. This is an alpha kernel. There may be instabilities and other issues. Be aware that installing this kernel will override any other custom/stock kernel you may have installed. You will lose the abilities of those kernels (such as overclocking, HAVs, etc.). This requires root. Do NOT use this kernel with an ASOP rom (MIUI, CM7, etc.). An ASOP version is coming according to the devs.

How to install:
Apparently, kernel manager has issues with the HDMwIn kernel, so please flash from recovery manually instead.
- Run Kernel Manager and approve the superuser request.
- Press menu and select 'Advanced Options'. Ensure 'Flash automatically' isn't checked.
- Select Load Kernel List.
- Scroll to the bottom of the list.
- Select PoonSense 2.3.3.
- Press Download + Flash Kernel.
- Using a file manager, navigate to root of SD card. sdcard/kernel-manager/agrabren contains a .zip file callled "2.3.3-1-793-HDMwIn-Sense233-Alpha-signed.zip". That file is also attached to this thread.
- Move that .zip file to the root of your SD
- Reboot into recovery
- Wipe cache and dalvik cache.
- Flash the .zip file.
- Reboot
- Enjoy HDMwIn.

Also, agrabren has updated his kernel due users having issues with blank screens. If you guys are having issues, please use his newest kernel: build 793. That version is now available on Kernel Manager and attached to this thread.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...postcount=1864

Old method of install. Causes Wifi errors and other bugs, use alternative method above.
How to install:
- Install Kernel Manager from Market
- Run Kernel Manager and approve the superuser request.
- Press menu and select 'Advanced Options'. Ensure 'Clear Cache' and 'Clear Dalvik Cache' are checked.
- Select Load Kernel List.
- Scroll to the bottom of the list.
- Select PoonSense 2.3.3.
- Press Download+ Flash Kernel.
- After the reboot, enjoy HDMI mirroring. There is no app to start or configure. It just works now. Plug in an HDMI cable and you are good to go.
